I felt lucky today when I discovered the city installing the Christmas Star at Main and State Streets. I’m not on any sort of call list for events such as this. It’s usually my experience and a little bit of observing that puts me in the right place at the right time.
Today it was luck. I’d gone to Classic Studio where I was planning the next series of Ohio Photo Classes and needed some quiet time for the details. Saw that the city had placed orange cones in the parking spots on State Street in front of City Hall. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony is this weekend and the tree was still not in place.
I shot a few frames of it being placed but a dark green tree against a sunny blue sky isn’t exactly the stuff of great photos.
I checked with the city workers to discover that the Christmas Star was part of the plan following their lunch. I returned when they did.
Enjoy the photos. The photos of the Christmas Star installation are part of the WestervilleLife Photo Collection at SmallTown Stock.
