A fort from a discarded chair

Two youngsters use a chair destined for the garbage heap as a fort for their imaginary adventures in a place removed from the realities of the intended purpose of the piece of furniture. Both kids pleaded with their parents to please not throw the chair away and allow them to use it as a playful refuge for greater youthful adventures.




Paddling down the Big Walnut

Techncally, Big Walnut Creek emptying into Hoover Reservoir is in Galena. It’s close enough to Westerville that it’s included in one of our attractions. Access to the reservoir’s headwaters is at the end of the Westerville Bike trail that begins at the south end of the city.

These kayakers paddle beneath the Old 3C bridge leading into Galena.




City vehicles first to cross new Main Street Bridge

A Westerville police car and fire department truck were the first official vehicles to pass over the Main Street Bridge after it opened to traffic at sunrise Friday morning.
