Two too many kites on a windy day

family kite flyers 2011-9-5-00016

Father and daughter enjoy Monday’s string winds by flying a kite at Walnut Ridge Park on the playing field adjacent to the ball fields. In the background is the son who also handled a kite for the trio.

Despite a brief period when both kites went missing in the strong wind, one was retrieved after its string became entangled in a nearby tree. The other still sits atop a neighbor’s tree waiting for a another strong wind to dislodge it or a brave soul to venture out on a thin limb for retrieval.
