Westerville Road Construction Continues

Drainage pipe arrives

Workers remove drainage pipe from its carrier for temporary storage along the berm of Westerville Road. The new pipe will be runoff drainage into Alum Creek.

Utility pole hole excavation

Workers use long-handled post hole diggers to excavate holes for new utility poles along Westerville Road and Dempsey Road. The variety of underground utilities along the path for the new poles requires using hand tools to dig the holes. Power tools would be too powerful and possibly damage underground cables and lines before they could be stopped. Hand tools are much slower than power tools but are much less expensive to use than the cost and down time of repairing damaged lines.
